π± The Plug Plant Aftercare Guide π±
Your plug plants have arrived! And while it might be tempting to plant them straight into the garden, we recommend giving them a little extra care first.
Plug plants are young plants, so allowing them to establish in a pot before planting them into their final position will give them the best possible start.
π¦ Open your parcel straight away
Please open your parcel as soon as it arrives and carefully unpack your plants.
π± Pot them on
Pot your plugs into at least a 9cm pot using a good-quality compost.
This gives the plants room to develop a strong root system and establish before they are planted out.
βοΈ Partial shade
During the warmer months, we recommend growing your newly potted plugs in partial shade while they establish.
Once they are well established and growing strongly, they can be gradually moved into their preferred growing position.
π§ Keep moist
Keep the compost moist, checking your plants regularly,Β particularly during warmer weather.
Try to avoid allowing the compost to completely dry out, while also taking care not to overwater.
πΏ Feed weekly
Once your plants are actively growing, feed weekly with a suitable liquid plant feed to encourage healthy, vigorous growth.
πΈ Ready for the garden
Once your plugs have established and developed a good root system, theyβll be ready to plant into their final position.
A little extra care at this stage will help give your plants the best start and set them up for a beautiful season of growth.
Happy growing! π±π
